About Wobble Cup

Wobble Cup is a physics sports game for two players sharing one keyboard. Each team has two athletes, and each team has exactly one key: Player 1 presses W, Player 2 presses the Up arrow. A tap makes both of your athletes hop and swing at the same time, a leg in football and both arms in basketball and volleyball. Holding the key keeps the swing up. That is the whole control scheme, and the athletes are ragdolls that wobble on their feet, lean, topple and get back up, so every hop goes a little differently.

The same engine runs three sports in three venues. Football is played in a stadium at sunset, and a goal counts when the ball is fully inside the net. Basketball is played on a street court at night, and a basket only counts when the ball drops down through the rim. Volleyball is played on a sunny beach, and a point goes to the side whose opponents let the ball touch the sand.

In versus mode you pick football, basketball, volleyball or Mix, where the sport changes after every point, and the first team to five points wins. From the second point on, every point brings a random twist: an ice rink, moon gravity, a giant or tiny ball, a strong wind, big heads or a heavy ball.

The Solo Cup is five matches against five computer teams that get sharper each round, playing all three sports, starting with the one you picked, then that sport again and a Mix final. Each match is first to three with a two-minute clock. You have three hearts, and a lost match costs one and is replayed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can two people play Wobble Cup on one computer?

Yes. Wobble Cup is made for two players on one keyboard. Player 1 uses W and Player 2 uses the Up arrow. On the title screen each player presses their key to join, then Space starts the match. On a phone or tablet, Player 1 taps the left half of the screen and Player 2 the right half.

Why do I only have one button?

One key controls both athletes on your team. A tap makes them hop and swing together, and holding keeps the swing up. The fun comes from the ragdoll physics: the athletes sway on their feet and hop the way they lean, so timing the tap is the skill.

Which sports can I play?

Football in a stadium, basketball on a street court and volleyball on the beach. In versus you can pick one sport or Mix, which switches to a different sport after every point.

What are the twists between points?

From the second point of a match, each point gets a random twist: ice rink, moon gravity, giant ball, tiny ball, gale, big heads or heavy ball. The same twist never comes twice in a row, and the giant ball is never used in basketball because it would not fit through the hoop.

Can I play alone?

Yes. With one player joined, Space starts the Solo Cup: five matches against computer teams that get better each round. You have three hearts, and losing a match costs one heart and replays that match.

How is the Solo Cup score calculated?

Every match pays 100 points per point you score minus 30 per point you concede, never below zero. Winning a match adds 500 times its stage number, and winning the whole cup adds 3000 points plus 1000 for every heart left. Versus matches are not scored.
